Hydraulic hose leak: safety first, then the right replacement
Hydraulic hoses work under very high pressure. A small leak doesn't just waste oil and make a mess; it can be dangerous to anyone nearby.
As soon as you see a leak
- Stop work and lower the boom and bucket to the ground.
- Switch off the engine and move the control levers several times to release residual pressure (as described in the manual).
- Wait for the oil to cool.
- Locate the leak: is it from the hose body? the fitting? or the O-ring?
Where is it leaking from?
- From the fitting: sometimes it's loose or the O-ring is damaged, which is fixed by tightening or replacing the O-ring.
- From the hose body or near the crimped end: the whole hose must be replaced. Don't patch it.
- A swollen hose or a cracked outer cover: replace it even if it isn't leaking, because it can burst.
How to order the right hose
- Photograph the whole hose and both ends up close.
- If there is a number printed on the hose or a part number, write it down.
- Measure the length from end to end.
- Note its position on the machine (for example: bucket cylinder hose, right side).
- Send us this information with the machine model and serial number.
After fitting
Top up the hydraulic oil to the correct level, run the machine gently and cycle the affected function a few times to purge air, then check for leaks again.
We match the right part for your machine by serial number, genuine or aftermarket, and deliver it to your site anywhere in Saudi Arabia.
